Research in the Stanford Work, Technology, and Organization (WTO) center investigates the nature of work, mainly in technical settings and explores organizational design issues at the intersection of work and technology. The research is done through the use of field methods.

The research of WTO faculty, students, and alumni strengthens our understanding of the relationships between work, technology, and organization. To do this we combine field-based emperics with theoretical insight. Being embedded within Stanford’s School of Engineering and the Silicon Valley provides additional opportunities for collaboration with top expertise.
